Blackboy Max won Gamerhood Season 5 and 75,000 gifted subs

IShowSpeed finished second after Marlin flipped his Cube Collectors score in the finale.

Blackboy Max won State Farm Gamerhood Season 5 and 75,000 gifted Twitch subs. Jake from State Farm handed him the honorary key to the game on the season finale.

Going into the last episode, Blackboy Max and IShowSpeed tied for first with 46 points apiece. Emiru sat one point back at 45.

The penultimate Rocket League match settled who would captain the final arena game. Blackboy Max, IShowSpeed, and Marlin beat Emiru, SA, and Jason two games to zero. IShowSpeed scored four goals in the opener. Blackboy Max played goalkeeper in the second and made three saves while Marlin scored the winner.

The Rocket League points put IShowSpeed in first and Blackboy Max in second on the overall board. Blackboy Max split the remaining four players into pairs and IShowSpeed chose Emiru and Jason for his squad, leaving Marlin and SA on Blackboy Max's team.

The championship came down to Cube Collectors, a three-round arena game with red cubes worth one point and gray cubes worth minus one. Special polarity cubes reversed those values. A doubler cube in the final round doubled a sector's score.

After two rounds Team Max led 127 to 64. In the last 90 seconds IShowSpeed stacked 62 red cubes in his sector and grabbed the doubler, pushing his round score toward 124. Marlin dropped a polarity cube into IShowSpeed's sector at the buzzer and flipped that total to minus 124.

Team Max finished at 184 points and took the title. IShowSpeed's squad ended at minus 49 for the round. State Farm dropped the 75,000 gifted subs to Blackboy Max's channel. IShowSpeed walked away with 10,000 gifted subs as the second-place captain.
