Mark Cuban-Produced Series 'How to Change the World' Debuts on YouTube
The series explores social entrepreneurs tackling global challenges, premiering September 10.
'How to Change the World,' a new documentary series, will premiere on YouTube on September 10, 2026. The series is executive produced by Mark Cuban, Geralyn Dreyfous, and Gotham Chopra, and is a collaboration between World Within Studios and Religion of Sports. It focuses on social entrepreneurs who are addressing pressing global issues through innovative and community-driven solutions.
The 10-episode series follows the journeys of various entrepreneurs committed to making a positive impact in their communities. From a small beverage startup to a Lakota-founded green energy company, the series highlights the diverse range of businesses and the unique challenges they face. The creators emphasize that while the scale of growth varies, the true measure of success is the community impact achieved by these ventures.
The first episode will feature Coral Vita, a company focused on coral reef restoration, followed by Chicago CRED, an initiative led by former Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to prevent gun violence. The series will also include insights from business figures such as former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, NYU Stern professor Scott Galloway, Acumen founder Jacqueline Novogratz, and Our Place co-founder Shiza Shahid.
In addition to business leaders, the series will feature personalities like Free Solo climber Alex Honnold, Humans of New York author Brandon Stanton, and former White House chef Sam Kass. The series is directed by Dylan Mulick, Oliver Riley-Smith, and Nicholas Mihm, with production led by Jason Bowers and Jacob Mosler of World Within Studios.
World Within Studios, a nonprofit organization, is known for its work at the intersection of impact investing and storytelling. The company has previously produced award-winning projects such as 'Makayla’s Voice: A Letter to the World' and 'The Voice of Hind Rajab.'
Rostam Zafari, founder and CEO of World Within Studios, explained the series' focus on entrepreneurs who prioritize community benefit over personal gain. "'How to Change the World' follows founders who measure success by what their businesses give back," Zafari said. "This is the version of business worth telling stories about."
Dylan Mulick, co-creator of the series, highlighted the challenges these entrepreneurs face. "We are following individuals who are sacrificing personal gain to solve huge problems," Mulick stated. "By blending investigative journalism with a premium, stylized cinematic aesthetic, we are presenting these narratives as dynamic blueprints for systemic change."
Mark Cuban expressed his support for the series, emphasizing the importance of showcasing entrepreneurs who are actively solving problems. "I don’t back a project unless the people behind it are doing the work," Cuban said. "Rostam and Dylan built something different: a series that follows entrepreneurs who are actually solving problems and building something that lasts in their communities."
