Niko Omilana lost Dyken Suns job after staff voted against hire

A majority of Dyken Suns employees said no after his three-day trial as Harry.

Niko Omilana lost a trial for a permanent job at Dyken Suns grocery store when staff voted against hiring him. He worked three days in disguise while most colleagues believed he was a cricket acquaintance of owner Andy.

Store manager Adam agreed to the trial with hidden cameras throughout the shop. Only Adam and Andy knew the truth. At the end of three days Adam asked each employee whether Harry should be offered the job.

On the first day Niko staged a shoplifter stop with a hired actress and took a slap to the face. Andrea told him not to go after her before he confronted the woman. Assistant manager Matt said he should have alerted staff rather than grab a customer.

Niko covered himself in fart spray and hired actors to accuse him of smelling bad, hoping colleagues would defend him. He later knocked down staged sugar-glass wine bottles in an aisle and played in an evening football match with Matt and Phil after Adam smuggled him onto the team.

Adam polled the staff on the final day. Marie and others cited smell and the shoplifter incident and voted no. Matt said Niko played better football than he expected but that he would still say no to a job. Dela, a customer who had rushed to help after the bottle fall, was the only yes.

The nos left Niko short of the majority he needed and he left without the job.
