Chris Sails arrested twice after false drowning claim

Waller County booked the Queen Naija collaborator for a false statement, then evading arrest.

Chris Sails was booked twice in less than 72 hours after Waller County deputies launched a full water rescue based on his claim that his children had fallen into a lake behind his home, according to court records Dexerto cited.

Sails built a channel of nearly three million subscribers making relationship content with singer Queen Naija. On August 16, the Waller County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a suspicious person running through a neighborhood and jumping on vehicles.

A responding officer found Sails sitting in the road beside a light pole and appearing to pray before he began rolling in the street, according to the filing. During questioning, Sails told officers his children had fallen into water behind his home.

Fire department vehicles, rescue boats, sonar equipment and aerial drones joined the search before deputies learned the children were safe with family members.

Sails was first booked on August 17 on a charge of making a false statement to a police officer. He posted bond and was released the next day. In a YouTube video after the arrest, Sails said he could not remember the encounter. "I'm eating some brownies and sh*t. Bi*ch, I started tweaking after that," he said. He did not say whether the brownies had been laced.

A second Waller County booking record shows Sails was taken into custody again at 1:05 p.m. on August 20 on a charge of evading arrest or detention, less than 69 hours after his first booking. Authorities have not publicly explained what prompted the second arrest.
