Mighty Mike Plays' father said he would sue YouTubers for libel

Creators including Deep Humor had questioned whether a $118,000 YouTube ad bill on the family channel was real.

Mighty Mike Plays' father told a merchandise buyer he would sue YouTube creators for libel after several channels challenged his story that his nine-year-old son ran up a $118,000 bill promoting Minecraft and Roblox videos on a company credit card. A screenshot of the email circulated on X on September 22.

"I'm an honest person, I'm not a scammer," the message reads. "All those channels are spreading lies and I'm suing them very soon for libel." He did not name which channels he meant.

He had also said he lost his job and had 30 days to repay the charge. Skepticism grew after the family listed AI-assisted shirts priced from $67 to $97 and temporarily turned off comments on Mighty Mike Plays uploads.

penguinz0, Mujin, and Deep Humor were among those who posted videos doubting the account. Deep Humor later titled an upload "Mighty Mike Plays Dad is Suing Me" and said the father's remarks appeared aimed at creators who had questioned the $118,000 figure.

The father wrote in a since-deleted YouTube Community post on September 22 that he would post an update within a day or two to "clear up" the allegations. That follow-up had not appeared, and links to the family's merchandise had been removed from the channel profile and a recent video description.

The Mighty Mike Plays storefront remained online with 14 products, including a $67 "118K" shirt. Comments were back on the channel's latest video, with its description noting they had been restored as promised.
