Dora won Mark Rober's ten-thousand-dollar casino cheat contest
Hank Green stole the cash during a staged toast and hid it in a vase until security caught him.
Dora won Mark Rober's first Cheat the Casino Games night at CrunchLabs and the $10,000 for her chosen charity.
Mark Rober filled the warehouse with science and tech creators for blackjack, poker, craps, and roulette. They could use engineered cheats until he or his cameras caught them. Whoever held the most chips at the end took the cash. Hank Green had counted the bills the day before to confirm they were real.
Through the night Mark Rober confiscated a self-driving roulette chip, sleeve cameras that read marked decks, inked card backs visible through tinted glasses, and loaded dice. Becky Stern ran a side business selling distractions, including a remote card launcher, while other creators paid her to draw eyes away from their tables.
When the chips were counted, Dora and Allen Pan topped the room. Another finalist admitted he had been pressing fake chips in the bathroom from supplies he ordered after studying the invite. Allen Pan insisted he had never cheated and had piled up winnings by accident. Dora's dice held wax and steel bearings that moved when she warmed them in gloves with a hidden heating pad, letting her reprogram which face landed up between rolls.
Mark Rober named Dora the winner and pulled the prize from its pedestal. The stack was cake. A motorized false bottom had dumped the real bills onto a conveyor under the stage during Becky Stern's toast, when she told the room Mark Rober was buying everyone a Rivian.
Footage first implicated Science Bob Pflugfelder, who had walked off with a black duffel during the chaos. Dora traced the dessert cart instead. Hank Green had hired Becky for the toast, climbed into the cart during a blackout, and left the money in a vase behind the snack bar. Mark Rober smashed the vase on stage and found cake again until the team recovered the bills.
Security seized Hank Green. Mark Rober gave Dora the $10,000 for charity.
