MrBeast opened Abna Dakwa village in Ghana for cocoa farm children

The build took a year and included a new school, ten teacher homes, and five years of meals for students.

MrBeast opened Abna Dakwa village in Ghana after building a neighborhood, school, wells, and markets on land where he said children had been working illegally on cocoa farms.

He put almost ten million dollars and a year of planning and construction into the project. The old school in the area held 325 students in one building, with miles of travel, dirty classrooms, and heat that made learning miserable.

The crew poured foundations, raised walls for a ten-classroom school, and widened flood drainage from a three-foot pipe to two four-foot drains so rain would not block paths to the campus. After weeks in the rain they stopped flooding between the new village and the rest of the community.

They dug wells tied to solar panels and water towers, piped clean water into homes, installed city-wide solar power, and finished a farm with fish tanks, a fenced plot, and a chicken coop. They added a football field, a playground designed with student Alfred, a marketplace, and a community center with a library, medical space, and shared farm.

MrBeast brought in other creators to stock the school with desks and books before the school year started.

Eric cut the ribbon to open the village officially. Teachers moved into ten new homes, including Isaac, who had shared two rooms with his wife and three children in a house crowded with a dozen other families. MrBeast gave Isaac a white-tile house built to his specifications, with rent-free ownership and solar panels rated for thirty years.

MrBeast said the project would feed every student a free meal on every school day for the next five years, about two hundred meals per student each year, to keep attendance up and time on farms down. Eric named the settlement Abna Dakwa village at the opening.
