YouTube announced Shorts series for seasons and episodes
The feature groups vertical clips into seasons and episodes for Partner Program creators on web, phones, and TVs.
YouTube said at Made On YouTube 2026 that Shorts series lets creators organize Shorts into seasons and episodes with custom thumbnails. Viewers can watch linked Shorts as one continuous story instead of scrolling standalone clips.
The series live on a creator’s channel. YouTube is rolling the tool out to members of the YouTube Partner Program on web, mobile, and connected TVs.
YouTube framed Shorts series as an extension of Creator Shows, which last year gave select creators TV-style season and episode layouts. Michelle Khare was among those who used the earlier tools.
Vertical microdramas have pulled creators and Hollywood names toward dedicated apps. Hannah Stocking starred in the musical microdrama Playback on Holywater’s My Drama platform, and James Franco is among celebrities who have joined the format elsewhere.
TikTok’s PineDrama and apps such as ReelShort and DramaBox have pursued the same audience. Shorts series keeps episodic vertical stories on YouTube rather than off-platform viewing.
