YouTube moved the dislike button into its overflow menu

Screenshots spread on X and Reddit. Google did not say how wide the test runs.

Some viewers said YouTube moved the dislike control off the row beneath long-form videos and into the three-dot overflow menu, which adds an extra tap before someone can register a dislike.

At least two people on X and one on Reddit posted screenshots in recent days; some images showed no dislike option beside the like control. How many accounts see the layout is unknown, and Google did not respond when asked for comment.

In a November 2021 post, YouTube made public dislike counts private while keeping the button on the watch page, after experiments it said reduced coordinated dislike campaigns. YouTube removed the inline dislike from Shorts earlier this year and routed feedback through the same overflow menu.
