YouTube piloted Shorts bonuses for consistent upload schedules

A pilot pays select Partner Program members in six countries extra when they keep Shorts monetization on all month.

YouTube opened a trial Shorts bonus program that adds earnings for Partner Program members who post short-form video on a regular cadence, Rene Ritchie said on Creator Insider.

Ritchie, YouTube’s creator liaison, asked whether creators would want pay “just for keeping your Shorts schedule consistent.” He said those in the test can take home “something extra based on your viewership.”

Creators cannot sign up. YouTube is inviting a limited set of Partner Program accounts in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, Japan, and South Korea and tells eligible channels by email.

YouTube’s help page for the pilot says monthly bonuses track total valid engaged Shorts views. Accounts must keep Shorts monetization enabled through the entire month to receive the payment.
