Balaji announced five YouTube shows totaling 200 episodes for India

Kapoor said Indian viewers leaving appointment TV still want long-running fiction on the platform.

Balaji Telefilms Ltd. will produce five original shows totaling 200 episodes for exclusive release on YouTube in India, joint managing director Ekta Kapoor and YouTube India managing director Gunjan Soni said.

Kapoor said she is betting audiences who walk away from appointment television will still follow serialized fiction when it is built for YouTube rather than broadcast schedules.
