YouTube expanded React live to eligible long videos

Co-host matchmaking and live auto dubbing are slated for early 2027, YouTube said at Made on YouTube.

YouTube said it will expand React live so creators can jump into a broadcast from any eligible long-form video or livestream on the platform, not only from other livestreams. Rollout starts later in 2026 after pilots that included Watch With on tentpole streams and tests of live reactions between concurrent streams.

Creators who react keep the live ad revenue and fan funding they earn during the session, YouTube said. Uploaders whose videos are used get attribution, extra view credit in YouTube Studio, and settings to block reactions on specific titles.

Barbara Macdonald, who leads product management for YouTube Live, announced the batch of tools in a Sep 23, 2026 blog post tied to Made on YouTube. Go Live Together adds live creator matchmaking in early 2027, either by picking someone who is already streaming or by entering a queue that pairs similar channels.

The same timeline covers a pilot of live auto dubbing, which translates a host’s speech in real time for viewers who prefer another language. YouTube said more than 40 percent of live watch time already comes from outside a streamer’s home country.

In August 2026, logged-in viewers averaged more than 600 million views of live content per day, including archived streams, according to figures YouTube published with the announcement.
