YouTube launched accessibility tags on Playables
The labels match the Accessible Games Initiative and show up in each title’s info panel before play.
YouTube said it launched accessibility tags on Playables so viewers can check controls, audio, and visual support before starting a game. The feature went live on Nov. 2, 2026.
On mobile and web, opening a Playables game’s info panel lists every tag the title supports in one place. YouTube adopted the Accessible Games Initiative tag set so the same wording means the same thing on Playables, consoles, and PC storefronts.
The twenty-four tags span controls and input, including touch-only play, keyboard support, stick inversion, button remapping, and options to avoid rapid button presses or long holds. Audio and visual tags cover narrated menus, mono or surround sound, color alternatives, large text, and clear subtitles. Gameplay tags flag customizable difficulty and save-anytime options.
Developers who publish on Playables can add the tags now in the developer portal under Game Details. Dara Monasch, Playables product manager, said transparent details upfront help players pick games that fit their setup.
