YouTube unveiled Ask Music for in-app music discovery

YouTube Music and Premium subscribers will also get a spoken AI podcast guide called your podcast lineup.

YouTube announced the updates at Made on YouTube on September 23, pitching new ways to explore artists and podcasts inside the YouTube Music app.

Ask Music is a built-in conversational experience across podcasts and a catalog of more than 300 million songs, including studio recordings, remixes, live performances, covers, and DJ sets. Listeners can customize their queue or dig into artist background without leaving the app.

YouTube Music and Premium subscribers will also receive your podcast lineup, a personalized AI-audio guide that delivers a short weekly spoken preview of recommended shows and why they might fit a listener before suggesting episodes. YouTube described the guide as eyes-optional and hands-free.

YouTube said Music users discovered an artist new to them more than 450 million times in July 2026. Ask Music and the podcast guide roll out soon for subscribers worldwide.
