YouTube introduced Live showdowns for merged creator livestreams

The platform tied the head-to-head live format to auto dubbing and long-form Watch With.

YouTube said creators can merge their live streams for friendly head-to-head competitions called Live showdowns, part of a September 23 Made On YouTube rollout led by CEO Neal Mohan.

The announcement framed Live as a lane for large fandoms. YouTube said real-time auto dubbing on live streams will let hosts reach viewers in other languages without a separate production pass.

YouTube also expanded Watch With so audiences can react in sync during long-form uploads, not only during live broadcasts. The post did not set a public launch date for Live showdowns.
